SALIX VENTURES ANNOUNCES SALE OF INTELLICARE, INC.

ANDOVER, MA (November 11, 2005) -- Salix Ventures announced today the sale of IntelliCare, Inc. to PolyMedica Corporation (NASDAQ:PLMD). PolyMedica is a Woburn, Massachusetts- based provider of health care products and services to patients suffering from chronic diseases. IntelliCare, Inc., based in Portland, Maine and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Salix portfolio company IntelliCare America, Inc., is a provider of outsourced call center and customer relationship management services to managed care plans, disease management companies, and hospital systems. Terms were not disclosed.

Salix Ventures led IntelliCare's Series B Preferred stock financing in July 2000 with co-investors Cardinal Health Partners of Princeton, New Jersey and Charles "Kip" Moore. In June 2002, IntelliCare completed a Series C Preferred financing in which new investors Canaan Partners and Cutlass Capital joined the investor group. Chris Grant, a General Partner of Salix Ventures, served as Salix's designee on IntelliCare's Board of Directors.

According to Mr. Grant, "Salix is pleased with this transaction and believes that PolyMedica has acquired a valuable asset that will blend well with their operations.
